Bill is Group Managing Director of Thuthuka Group Ltd, a multi-disciplinary project engineering and finance business specialising in the water, waste, air pollution, mining and energy industries.
Bill joined Thuthuka Group from being Managing Director of Thuthuka Project Managers, one of the merged entities forming Thuthuka Group Ltd. At Thuthuka Project Managers he managed the company in growing from its inception in 1995 to a position of prominence in the fields of its technical expertise in Southern Africa and also internationally. Prior to founding Thuthuka Project Managers, Bill was with Goldfields for 16 years where he headed the Civil Engineering section with responsibility for all civil capital expenditure for the GFSA Group.
He was responsible for the management of professional teams involved in large, complex multi-disciplinary projects, dealing with heavy mining civil structures, steel structures, metallurgical plants, materials handling, services, including water supply, sewage, rail, roads, storm water, underground civil work covering shaft-sinking, bulkheads, ore-passes, haulages, dams, machine foundations and general treatment of service water. He also led Group technical environmental management projects, the preparation of group EMPR documents and the engineering and contract administration of group opencast mines.
Bill is a recognised authority on the management of projects in the Mining and Industrial Engineering fields, with particular emphasis on water, waste and materials handling.
Bill is a registered professional engineer and belong to the SA Institute of Civil Engineers and is also a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Concrete Society of South Africa. He is a also Fellow of the Water Institute of South Africa.
